Virtual Church Held 3/28/20 Out of Concern for Public Health

Dearest Friends, On March 28, 2020 church and Sabbath School are being voluntarily cancelled out of public health concerns. We grieve that we cannot meet together in person, but we are following the recommendations of the medical health community to guard our most vulnerable. We will be recording and posting a sermon that you can listen to via Facebook. We have other, past sermons recorded here on our website. Reach them by clicking: Who We Are, then clicking Hear a Message.

We are navigating new territory as we try to “flatten the curve” of the COVID 19 by refraining from meeting together. Although COVID 19 has taken us by surprise, it has not taken God by surprise. We want you to feel loved and cared for, even if we cannot meet together on March 28, 2020; we can reach out through phone or email to each other. For those in need, our pastor and elders can be reached through the normal channels.

Pack a Shoebox Sabbath School - November 9th

On November 9, 2019 kids and teens ages 14 to 4 are welcome to pack a shoebox with useful items plus a few toys for children in need. Families do not need to bring a thing, the church provides all items. These gift boxes will get distributed by Operation Children Child to children in the developing world…children who live in refugee camps or next to garbage dumps, children who have experienced the trauma of natural disasters or are just plain poor.

The packing happens November 9, 2019 at 10 a.m. during Sabbath School.  We’d like to have enough items so every child/teen attending can pack 2-3 shoeboxes, so please register on the Freeportchurch7 Facebook page by adding your last name (not your child’s name) with 1x, 2x, 3x etc. to designate the number of children/teens packing.

The gifts are distributed in the name of Christ and include a brochure in the child’s language explaining the significance of Christmas.  If you’d like to “track your box” and learn where it goes, we encourage you to bring the packing slip with you by going to this website: https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/follow-your-box/  The $9 per box cost helps offset warehouse, shipping and handling and other associated costs. Come anyway, even if you do not choose this option.  The church will handle this fee if you do not choose to track your box.

If you miss the November 9th packing day, you can always pack your own box at home and turn it in to the Church of the Nazarene in Brunswick or Lisbon Falls during national drop-off week Nov. 18-25, 2019  To learn more about Operation Christmas Child  in general go to this website https://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/ .  There are many wonderful videos on the website to experience the impact of this ministry.
