Chapels on the Autobahn?

I was speeding down the Autobahn in Germany when I saw a sign announcing an “Autobahnkapelle”. A chapel for those putting the pedal-to-the-medal? Curious, I took the exit.

A Walk on the Winter Side

Iconic You

Da Vinci’s The Last Supper. Rodin’s The Thinker. Paris’s Eiffel Tower. NYC’s Twin Towers aflame. These are iconic images. To speak of them creates an unforgettable picture in our mind. Artificial or Real?

There are two types of Christmas tree aficionados, those who extol the virtues of artificial trees and those who prefer the aroma and texture of the real thing. Which are you? Do you don your red plaid shirt, jacket, hat and leather gloves to brave a Christmas tree farm? Or is your garb more to the style of flannel pajamas?

Christmas? December?

I celebrated Christmas in October this year. The holiday décor was a bit strange as well. My decorations were bits of lace and trim sprinkled on the floor from the doll outfits I was sewing. My husband celebrates Christmas mostly in the warmer months however.

As Welcome as a Rose

On our walk from the hotel to the United Nations, I was careful to refer to United Nations by its full name. Both Koreans gave me blank stares. Then I slipped and said “the UN”.
“The UN? We’re going to the UN?!?” the one shouted with true excitement.
“Why didn’t you tell us?”
